Remarkably, Roberto Mancini has just confirmed that Tevez REFUSED to come on as a sub against Bayern Munich today. I frankly can't quite get my head round this. I defended Tevez a lot last summer, saying you could never question his commitment and that he's been a great servant to the club, but this is despicable, verging on unforgivable.
I've absolutely no sympathy for him any more. It's HIS fault we signed a replacement for him, a replacement who's been playing so well he's un-droppable. Tevez hasn't shown us anything like over the last 2 seasons yet this year... and he's missed crucial a penalty to boot. It's HIS fault he's on the bench.
Anyone want to have a stab at the disciplinary action?
"I wanted to put Carlos Tevez on the pitch, he refused to go on the pitch. For me it is a bad situation. I can't accept this one player refusing to go on." - Roberto Mancini

Apparently he didn't want to be cup tied for January...
Why did he get on the plane?
God on Zaba for the bollocking he gave Tevez!

What a fuckin dick - I'll have your wages for the week Carlos - $200,000 or whatever the fuck it is and u don't wanna play...u can rot in he reserves till January...honestly - we can play with our starters, with Balotelli, whose attitude on the bench has been fantastic from what i've heard, to rest or back up the starters.
I can't believe this..... Imagine if you'd bought a Tevez shirt and now this happens.....

Firstly, I must declare my interest, your honours. For years you have all been sick and tired of my anti-Tevez posts but I will still go on and say that the guy should be transfer listed, forced to train at Platt Lane and at the times that the under 16's train and, when he doesn't turn up, sack him for contract breaking but retain his registration for the next 3 and a half years. Unless someone offers us 50 Million (GBP) for him in CASH, non of this ten bob thisweek and a pound next week shit - we want the lot or he can ROT. Having said that which Club will want such a selfish shit. He acts off ther field like he plays football on it - HE is the only one who counts in his world.

I've not been on cos I've not got internet at the new house sorted yet and its a mare getting here on my phone but seriously wtf does he think he's playing at? That type of behaviour is tantamount to breach of contract and we could sue him for the remaining cost of his contract and then let the fucker go on a free. Nobody will want that bog eyed fuck now. Looks like tdk was right all along

He should be suspended, without pay, and then sell him in January. It made the Main ITV News tonight ! From the OS: It wasn’t just the 2-0 Uefa Champions League reverse that disappointed Roberto Mancini in Munich. The Blues boss was annoyed at his side’s slack defending, and the reaction of former skipper Carlos Tevez - who refused to take the field as a second-half substitute - didn’t help his post-match mood. And all that after an opening half-hour in which the manager saw plenty of positive signs. Mancini said: "After we conceded the first goal we should have paid more attention - we conceded a stupid goal. When they scored the second goal, the game was finished. "We played very well for 30 minutes, when we had a chance. But at this level if you don't run for 90 minutes you have a problem. We didn't work very well after 30 minutes." With City desperate for a goal, Mancini sent on Nigel de Jong, Aleks Kolarov and James Milner with last season's top scorer Tevez sat resolutely on the bench.
The boss said: "He refused to come on the pitch. For me that is a bad situation. It's impossible for a player to refuse to help the team. I can't accept that one player refused to go in."
Tevez later told Sky: "I wasn't feeling good, physically or mentally." Edin Dzeko was not happy to make way for De Jong either. Mancini said: "Edin was disappointed but the manager must do what he thinks best. One player can't play very well every game and I thought it was better (to substitute him). I have to speak to him later." City now have just one point from their opening two Champions League games with a crucial double header against Villarreal up next Mancini said: "Tonight we had a problem in this game. Before, we haven't had a problem. "Maybe at the moment this team (Bayern Munich) is too strong for us, but we have a chance to go through, we still have four games to go and all is not lost. "Maybe we can win the second game when they come to Manchester. Maybe we can beat them then." Centre-half Kolo Toure, who saw centre-forward Mario Gomez score both goals, said: "We didn't defend as we have been doing, and in the Champions League you have to defend well from start to finish. "Bayern are very experienced, they've been in the Champions League a long time. All we can do now is try to learn from this defeat." www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2011/September/Mancini-so-frustrated-at-defeat

There is absolutely no excuse for Tevez in this situation. Even if there is a language mix-up then he will still only have himself to blame. How long has he been in England now? 5/6 years and he's made no effort to learn the language to a competent level (unlike Zaba who speaks excellent English now) and he's made no effort to fit in to the culture or mix with his team-mates outside of the club environment.
Unfortunately, I doubt he can just be sacked for what he's done and it would only suit him if we did. Allowing him a return to play for a team in Argentina or sign for a club that will still put up with his antics.
I guess we'll just have to wait for an official club statement to find out what the next step will be.

The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way. I am 100% with Manchester City’s Management for taking this action. Well done to them, for showing some ‘bottle’ It is right this has been done quickly and made public. Our club cannot keep being held to ransom by one individual and his agents. I was, until recently, been backing him, blindly thinking his concerns were genuine, because he was our best player. How wrong have I been. Previous seasons we have relied on him, but he now needs to realise that this is now not the case, he is not ‘bigger’ than our Club any more, and no one is indispensable. In my opinion - get rid ASAP - he has been taking the big money for far to long, and in doing so he has made our club, team, and management look like fools. We don’t need you any more Carlos! www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/2011/September/Carlos-Tevez-a-club-statement
