Joorabchian is Tevez' agent and first came to prominence when he bought the "rights" to Mascherano and Tevez' contracts when they were playing for bottle tops in Argentina. He then "loaned" them to Corinthians who then won the Brazilian League and Mr Joorabchian then "loaned" them to West Ham, and then "loaned" them to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively, in conflict with the FA and Premier League laws.
He was then tried in a Brazilian court over the fact that his arrangement with Corinthians over the two players was allegedly also against their League Rules. For an Iranian he did rather well to escape that action, very much in a manner similar to the way in which Berlusconi has got away with a few court actions in Italy.
We have had almost a full year of Tevez ructions, culminating in Tuesday night's fiasco which I am sure that none of it has been influenced at all by Mr Joorabchian
I saw the interview Tevez gave to SSN immediately after the Bayern game saying that he told the Manager that his "head was not right" and that he "didn't feel well enough to play" ie: he refused to go on the field.
The next morning UK time (remember Brazil is about 5 or 6 hours behind us or maybe even more) he issued a statement that he had not refused to go out on the field and that he was "sorry" to the fans. Joorabchian has my vote as being the guy who wrote that statement and tried to do an "Alistair Campbell Spin" and make everything that Tevez said, look as though it was correct and above board.
I also seem to recall that Joorabchian used to get a lot of money in fees off City 2 and 3 years ago but, recently, his fees have gone down substantially(as evidenced in the City Annual Accounts) and there have been reports of a falling out between him and City's CEO (Garry Cook at the time).
I hope that Joorabchian is not using Tevez as his weapon in his own personal battle for world supremacy in the art of making money while doing his MBE (Minimum Basic Effort). It seems to me that he is determined to regain Tevez as a "Milch Cow" by trying to engineer another move with a mega payout for Tevez' agent (ie: himself).
Whichever it is, even if I am wrong (yet again) I can't help but feel that we'd be far better off without Tevez or his agent in the same way that we were certainly in a better position after we stopped dealing with Messrs Barton and Mackay.
