Abdul Razak and Gai Assulin Have Joined Brighton and Hove Albion on Loan
The Seagulls, managed by former Chelsea and Spurs star Gus Poyet, are just two points off the play-off positions and now have two promising Blues to help in their quest for a first stab at the Premier League.
This will be Razak's second loan stint on the south coast of the season, having made three appearances for Portsmouth in the autumn. A powerful, box-to-box midfielder, the 19-year-old Ivorian started in City's Carling Cup wins over Birmingham and Wolves and he will remain at the AMEX Stadium for the rest of the season.
The Brighton boss is confident that Razak will bring something extra to his squad, saying: "Abdul is the type of midfielder I have wanted to bring into the squad for some time. He is someone we have been aware of for a while, and we have been patient - but now I am very pleased he is here because he offers something different to what we have.
“He has the type of characteristics of a midfielder I want to bring, the strength, the power to go box to box, the technical ability; he brings plenty of things we didn't have within the squad before he arrived
Assulin has recently returned to action after an injury that prevented him from joining Barnsley on loan last November, and his deal sees him join Brighton until 19 March.
His attacking instincts were on display in a 45-minute appearance in last week's derby win for the Elite Development Squad that included a goal to level the score at 2-2. Having joined the club in December 2010, this will be the 20-year-old Israeli's first loan spell away from City.
