Nedum Onuoha has broken his silence on the unsavoury episode that cost Garry Cook his job at Manchester City. Cook resigned as the Etihad Stadium club's chief executive in September when it emerged he had written an insensitive email about Onuoha's mother, Dr Anthonia, who is battling cancer. He initially tried to cover up any wrong doing but offered his resignation to the City hierarchy when it became clear there was insurmountable evidence against him. 'It’s not the type of thing you joke about in any way, shape or form, least of all if you are trying to do it behind someone’s back,' Onouha told the Evening Standard. 'Inevitably if you make a mistake — well, I would dread to know what he felt like when it happened. 'It was a shame as I think they had a good working relationship. But there are certain things you can’t do and the fact he tried to deny that he had done anything — that’s not the best. 'He has apologised to my mother and she has moved on. He didn’t need to apologise to me as it’s between them. 'They might see each other and be friendly. Garry knows he has made a mistake and he has learned from it. It is one that has changed his life, probably in a negative way.

nedum onouha speaks such sense and always appears to be a real gentleman. i'm still annoyed that mancini didn't give him a proper chance to prove himself with us.

I notice that we still do not seem to be nearer to replacing Garry Cook. I'd like to see this position fillled by........................................ Garry Cook (again). He has done his Mea Culpa and I'd like to see him back in his proper position.
