Think it was evident again last night - it is essentail we add a player the plays down flanks with pace, doesn't cut in often and has the pace to beat his man round the outside, get to the touch line and drill a ball in. I've made no secert i think it should be Lennon, I'd try and get him in some deal involving Adebayor going the other way, i think he's under-rated for what he does, what he offers and i think you only have to look at the fact that people with the 'beckham' early, deep delivery now play at full back, a winger that only has a quality delivery is now a dying breed in the modern game. IMO i think zonal marking has distroyed it and that crossing is now far more effective driven in, along the ground, from the touchline and getting players coming onto the end of them.
Time to move Savic on IMO. For me, he's got to be sent out on loan, if only to regain his confidence and polish off his ability. He reminds me a lot of what collocini did when he first came to the prem and the Championship made him and Enrique as players, i'd get him out to a team with a good defensive record in more than one season; Cardiff if they don't come up this time round.
I think we do need another CB and i'd be after Hietinga from Everton. He can play a number of positions (RB, DMC & CB) he puts his foot in, he can play with the ball at his feet, he's good in the air for someone who's 5'11/6ft and he's got plenty of premier league experience. I think he's go the right attitude, like Zaba does, which as we've seen in every big game he's played in, he turns up and it has an effect on those around him to lift their game. Even more so, with being in Liverpool, he wouldn't have to uproot his family, so the only settling in he'd need to do would be settling into the squad. IMO he'd be the perfect signing in the summer because according to a Martin Samuels piece last summer he's got a £12m release clause if any top club comes in for him.
