Is this incompetence by our medical staff, or a freak injury? Arguably our best striker out for 2, maybe more games. Agüero, City's leading scorer, is understood to have suffered an extreme reaction after a member of staff applied a spray to his foot. His skin is said to have reacted so badly to the spray that he has been left with burn-like blisters and his entire foot has swollen. Mancini refused to say what had caused the injury beyond repeatedly describing it as "stupid". Read More:

To be honest I'd say it is an easily done thing. These coolant sprays and other hot/cold therapies they put on the injuries aren't really expensive bits of kit and i expect the medical staff throughly expected Aguero to have already had them applied during his time at Athletico. In terms of allergies, they aren't covered in a medical and should have really been passed on by his own personal doctor if he's ever shown a reaction before. I could bore you all with the details of the medicals (did the protocol for them last year at uni) but i'll save your eyes the strain!

Agüero Could Face Gunners Argentine aims to clear any confusion surrounding foot injury Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero has rubbished several of the unusual theories behind his foot injury and he hopes to be fit to face Arsenal on Sunday. Last week, Blues manager Roberto Mancini said Agüero would miss the Premier League encounter with Sunderland after picking up what he said was a 'stupid' injury. It subsequently transpired Agüero had a swollen foot, which had reacted badly to a spray applied to treat an injury. How Agüero got the initial injury was the subject of numerous claims, including one that he had fallen off his son's motocross bike and another that he had tripped down the steps of the team bus. I was more concerned at the transfer speculation surrounding Sergio, but I rest assured that he is happy with us!
