www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-17781842I can't believe this! Didn't even hear anything about the trial until I saw the report on the news earlier. I still remember his goal against Portsmouth when we beat them 6-0, Shaun Wright-Phillips backheeled it across the goal and he banged it in. It's sad to see a quality Football League player throw away his career like this.

He must be a sad bastard - lots of fame, money and status in society and what does he do? At the very least he goes to a hotel with his mate and a 19 year old, pissed out of her skull girl, he can only be described as a total idiot, I'm afraid.

Honestly i feel sorry for the lad because the case itself absolutely stinks. Girls get raped and it is awful, by no means am i suggesting that girls deserve it for their choice in clothing etc. But, as what is so wrong with everything these days, especially the country, the decision makers don't know what is going on at ground level. A hell of a lot of girls nowadays sniff money and circle like puppies. Doesn't matter whether it's purposely flaunted for them or just there to see. It only takes a night out in deansgate in town or News bar in Liverpool to see exactly what it is like and also why footballers have the impossible task of not cheating. Case in point, a couple of years ago i a mate steph who i knew from college was out with her mate (stunning) in Birdcage; Robinho + Jo where up in the VIP booths and sent their 'entourage' down to take them up. Long story short they had no intention of getting with either Jo or Robinho but there was free 1k bottles of champagne everywhere and decided to lead them on to milk the free drinks and the story to tell their mates, fortunately they where sensible enough not to go anywhere else with them.
I mean the Judge told him that the girl was beyond a state to make sensible decisions for herself, Evans should have known that and shouldn't have partaken in the act but if that is the case why did McDonald get let off, surely it is one in the same?
I refuse to believe if I go out tonight and meet a girl (both of us pissed, as is standard), that i need to worry that she's going to wake up with a stinking head and change her mind, wishing she hadn't come back with me and that will be classed as rape because i shouldn't have let her because of the state we both were in! (would have been locked up a long time ago if regretting sleeping with me was the criteria for rape!)
But joking aside, IMO, you should be responsible for your own actions, inebriated or not. It is blatantly obvious you're at your most vulnerable when your twisted out of you mind and on your own, you're more likely to make stupid decisions like she has done, she's gone back and had sex with two lads. They jury should have asked themselves would she have done that had neither of them been wadded footballers? IMO, I genuinely think the only reason why he's been found guilty is because the jury cannot comprehend how a girl of 19, not being paid, could have sex with two guys in one night without at least one of them being rape: whereas if they where at ground level it would be far less of a stretch of the imagination.

Some valid points there. Definitely some discrepancies in the case itself!
She should have been responsible for her own actions by not getting so wankered. On the flip, Ched should have been responsible by knowing who and what he is and he should have seen the potential outcome of the scenario!
