City landed a first top-flight title for 44 years playing the sort of football Blues’ fans had barely dreamed possible.
With no league title since 1968, it was fitting that Roberto Mancini’s men ended the wait playing a brand of football that befits the memory of the great Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison – the managerial dream team who last brought the coveted trophy home.
Records have tumbled along the way with the class of 2011/12 setting standards that will beg the question – is this the greatest City team of all-time?
Undoubtedly the foundation for the Premier League triumph was set at the Etihad Stadium, where the Blues took an incredible 55 points out of a possible 57 – only Chelsea and Manchester United can claim to equal that record and no club has bettered it.
City also posted a new Premier League record back in March after clocking up 20 successive home PL wins, before Sunderland ended the run back in March with a 3-3 draw.
The 52 home goals scored prior to QPR’s visit was also a new Club record, beating the previous record of 41 set in 2009/10.
With ten wins on the road this season, City have set yet another a new club record wins away from home, beating the previous record with the 2-0 win secured at Newcastle last Sunday.
...City's History Boys
The City boss’ win rate of 59.48%, is the best ever, narrowly beating Tom Maley’s 59.33% set 110 years ago!
Finally, Mancini’s side have smashed the previous Club record of 71 Premier League points by 18 have scored the most goals in a season during the Premier League era, beating the 73 goals tally set in 2009/10.
With four City players nominated for the PFA Player of the Year and Sergio Aguero nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year last month, Vincent Kompany voted Barclays Player of the Season and Joe Hart winning the Premier League Golden Glove award, it’s been an incredible campaign for the Blues, the players and the City fans.
And now we go into the 2012/13 season as defending Premier League champions proving that dreams do come true.

I'm still on an absolute high. The sheer explosion of emotion when aguero fired that ball past fatty kenny. Wow. Wouldnt have sold that ticket for anything in the world and that memory is going to stick with me for the rest of my life. Magical!

Magical.
Totally agree with. that assessment.
No one could have written that.
Special, dramatic, nerve-wracking, historic, spine tingling, unforgettable, miraculous

What a way to win the League! Score 2 goals in extra time just to keep the fans nervous! I have to admit I cried when Aguero scored, the feeling of beating United to the title was amazing!

I am the luckiest guy on earth.
Back in 68 I was actually in St James Park and this year I was in a pub that was half full of rags watching the game live on TV.
In fact I have been in such a daze (watching the parade last night et al) that, about ten minutes ago, my wife has just placed an envelope alongside my keyboard as I was typing this post. SHIIIIIT - I've forgotten my 22nd Wedding Anniversary - I am never going to be allowed to forget this weekend, am I?

Last nights parade was excellent.
See the club had to make a grovelling apology over the Tevez banner.

In a way, Tevez's banner was a good idea. The wording on it wasn't. Something like:- "In Fergie's (life)time!" would have been better! Or... for Russell Howard fans "Not in Fergies's lifetime, what does the asparagus say?"

Gentlemen Firstly apologies for my recent absence - I've been spreading msyelf a bit thin on the net lately and this place missed out a bit. I've not joined any other City forum.. just not had time for here... Anyway - how can i describe the win... just unreal... My local provincial paper interviewed me about the game as their sports editor knew I was a City fan... here's the story.... www.odt.co.nz/sport/football/209282/football-fear-and-elation-early-hoursApologies for the close up, hope u didn't snort your coffee or anything... What a game.... I LOVED watching the QPR fans cheering in that clip... they'll always have respect from me for that... class!! Anyway - happy for all you blokes over there, especially the ones living in Manchester. What u guys have been through I can't relate to. TDK - fucking awesome young fella!! CHAMP16ONS!! INDEED!!!!!

Well as bluekiwi is back I suppose I ought to make an appearance too!
Still in shock after Sunday - just watched the Mancinicam (last 10 mins) and the Tunnelcam - brilliant viewing and brought it all back from a different perspective.
Think I saw something that said I won the fantasy league this season too - must check.
Really sorry I've not been around for a while. I lost my Mum in January and life has been a bit odd since. Then I lost my Dad a couple of weeks back so I've had far too many things to think about. Many years ago they both watched Bath City play and Tony Book was playing for them then. When Book joined Man City they (and I) became City followers and I've been a City fan ever since. They would both have been overjoyed to see City finally back at the top again.
Hope to find more time to spend on here during the summer - it looks like being a very good one!
Regards to all,
Whistler.
