Have just been on the Official mcfc.co.uk site and today is the day that they start work on building the Etihad Campus.
On the site they show a 'fly by' projecting the 'reality' view of the Campus.
UN- BLOODY- BELIEVABLE - if you think that the rags were sour after last season, just wait until they see this.
I've heard about the new Etihad Campus for a couple of years now but nothing prepared me for this - I don't often go overboard on anything BUT............................... This is absolutely SENSATIONAL.
Please, Go and have a look and post your thoughts on the matter. If you don't start to swell up with pride, I'll be amazed.
I saw young Kat J-T in the Olympics lining up before her first race in the Heptathlon (Hurdles). 19 years old and looking scared shitless. The stadium announcer stated her name, the stadium erupted - she looked around the stands and clearly said "WOW" in wonderment -I now know how she felt.

this takes sporting facilities to a new level. maybe we'll finally hear the end of the "what happens when the sheikh gets bored of his plaything" jibes now... though i doubt it.
the level of planning and research that has gone into this is outstanding. also, kudos to the guy that made the official video... that must've taken ages!!!

I love how the owners and the people they have brought in have incorporated the very best in new ideas, new innovations and fresh directions that no other teams are going in, yet in doing so, they haven't harmed or effected the identity of the club. The club is still essentially the same; the club has never sherked it's responsibilities within the community and i think the new training campus epitomises that as we've donated 8 acres of the land and £3 million to the manchester city council to build a new college and a sports & science building on the site.
I'd love to see the early plans that where proposed to have bars & restaurants running adjacent to the bridge that runs over the canal (Joe Mercer Way) actually come to fruition because not only would it advance what is already the best match-day experience in the league but it would also keep the ground busy on none match-days. I don't know if anyone knows of it but there used to be a bar & grill called Masums about 10 minutes walk down the path that leads away from the reserves stadium which we used to go to once/twice a season and have s few pints, some food and make a proper day of going to the game but since it has shutdown there isn't really anywhere else you can do that asides paying a fortune for the hospitality tickets. Maybe this could solve the problem of the dispute of Mary D's loosing business by incorporating a move over to a new unit on the stadium grounds
