Manuel Pellegrini Rejects Joe Hart Exit Talk Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has denied that goalkeeper Joe Hart will leave the club in the January transfer window. Hart, 26, has missed the last five City games after being dropped but is set to play against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Wednesday. "There is a lot of news about six or seven goalkeepers that we want to buy but it is not true," said Pellegrini. "There is no chance that Joe Hart could go out of this squad in January." Hart lost his first-team place after a mistake against Chelsea led to Fernando Torres scoring a winner as City were beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on 27 October. He played for England in their 1-0 defeat by Germany in an international friendly on 19 November but has seen his club spot taken by Romanian Costel Pantilimon. Pellegrini said Hart will play in the home game against Viktoria Plzen but would not be drawn on his first-choice keeper for the Premier League match with Swansea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. "When we start the next game of the Premier League, we will talk about who will start playing," added Pellegrini. "The important thing for Joe is that he will play on Wednesday and we hope he will have a very good performance."

I think it'd be suicide to loan or sell Joe Hart in January or even in the summer! He'll be our #1 for many years to come ......... I hope!

I won't say much - but I have not changed my mind over the last 18 months - I'll just say that, as far as I am concerned, he Jury is still out.

Tonight's performance didn't really help his cause eh?

No, it didn't. I am sure that his major problem is that he still hasn't been able to give defenders the confidence that he controls his area. He maybe needs coaching from a sports psycholigist rather than on the training ground.

After WBA game, I reckon he'll be playing at Southampton - even if he was at fault for two goals there last season (the start pf his wobbly performances).

So the press had a field day when Joe was 'dropped', truth was the manager decided to give him a break to take the pressure off and it seems to have worked a treat. We have a first class stand in who was only lacking behind because of too few matches. This busy period has meant we needed both keepers on form and with recent match practice and it now looks like Pellegrini got the tactics right. Personally I never thought he was likely to leave because it appears that Pellegrini talks to the players (more than Mancini did) so Joe would have known what was happening and would no doubt have appreciated the pressure being taken off for a bit. End result - Joes back and as good as ever! Happy days.

Must admit that, at Newcastle, he did show presence and contro, of situations, stopping them from becoming goal threats, and his shot saving was found to be as good as ever, when tested.

He's a top top top top keeper on his day and we're lucky to have a player like him!
He's absolutely priceless but I must admit, I do feel sorry for Pantilimon!

I am sure that there are clubs in the Prem who would love Ponti (and in Europe) I just hope that, if he goes he goes quickly so that we can get someone else in before the window closes. Otherwise we do have Johansen who's been around for a few years as a youngster developing his game,

Yeah I feel sorry for Pantilimon and being a keeper must be a tough career! He could be first choice for a few Premier League games from what I've seen of him ....... Or he stays to play the cup games and spends his career on the bench? I hope he moves eventually and becomes a first team keeper but I don't want him to go just yet!
