Roberto Mancini is weighing up an £8million move for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi in January. The Manchester City boss blamed a lack of midfielders after seeing his side blow a 2-0 lead in Sunday’s draw at Fulham. And now he is set to return for the Italian international when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. The Italian was keen to sign anchorman De Rossi in the summer but City’s board were keen to balance the books after signing Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri for a combined £59m. But it looks as though a move could go ahead in January after De Rossi, who is out of contract next year, is refusing to sign a new deal — and that he has had his head turned by City, according to The Sun. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2039439/Manchester-City-keen-sign-Romas-Daniele-De-Rossi-January.html

Two things I'd consider on this story:- Mancini's actual quote was "James and Nigel are injured........ We are short of midfield players" - He was meaning due to injuries not because he wants to buy even more into the club.
The next time I believe anything that the Sun says will be the first (other than the date that is, once they have got that correct their moronic journos have run out of intellect, I feel).

The only credence I would give to this is that NDJ has yet to sign his new deal.
