My wife met a friend after work on Wednesday and, as she was leaving the pub at about 6.15, a couiple of mouthy rags fans both admitted to her that they really did NOT want tto beat Sunderland, as they did not want to go through an absolute trouncing by City at Wembley.

When I went in the pub last night the rags were all very subdued and only one of them tried to say anything about the Mata signing.

Frankly, if Moyes was any good, he'd have gone for Ramires from Chelsea rather than Mata as they are desperate for a strong defensive midfield player (like Ferna AND Yaya) whereas Mata is more of a replacement for Giggs - they haven't got anyone who can replace Scholes yet either.

Oh it's good to be Blue in the bad times, imagine how it feels being Blue today.

Their WHOLE midfield is awful .......

Carrick - Wrong side of 30 and isn't the player he was five years ago.
Young - Should partner Tom Daly on the TV show 'Splash' rather than do it on the pitch.
Nani - All show for me, does possess some skills but you can't rely on him.
Fletcher - Played less than 15 games a season in his 13 year career at United which says it all.
Cleverly - Can't fill the boots that Scholes left but doesn't come anywhere near.
Zaha - Have barely seen him so doesn't quite cut the mustard.
Kagawa - Eats dogs .... enough said.
Fellaini - Big fish in a small pond at Everton, small fish in a big pond at United - waste of money!?
Valencia - Doesn't seem as eager or as hungry as he used to be.

And finally ............

Januzaj - Made an impact on his debut but so did Macheda who is now on loan at Doncaster! ;D

I'd also say that Smalling and Jones (The next English CB pairing, Sic) don't even come up to starters in the Prem quality but are useful bench players.

I was talking to a red during City's thrashing of the Shitefartlaners and he accepted that it will take them at least two or three more seasons to get anywhere near to looking like a top side again.

Incidentally, where did the GBP150 Million that he 'had been given to spend' gone to? Surely Mata wasn't that expensive.
