Paper talk I think. He's 32 and although he can play left back and centre half his age alone doesn't fit Mancini's transfer policy.

I'd agree with jrock there. I feel that a journo has been bought a good meal (or a barrel full of ale) by Abidal's agent prior to this "story" beijng published.

I recall touting for Haveland when Hughes was still our Mnager - IF 9repeat IF with Boyata and Wabara coming along) we need another CB at the end of the year he would be as good as any - I don't know if he's young enough though

On 15 March 2011, Barcelona announced that Abidal was diagnosed with a tumor on his liver.
He had surgery on his liver on 17 March 2011.
