Tevez's alleged refusal to play against Bayern Munich, Mario Balotelli's long list of misdemeanours and Sergio Aguero's recent accusation of sparking a row in the tunnel following City's win over Villarreal have all lead to opinions that City's discipline may let them down this season.
But speaking to the Daily Mirror, Kompany stated: “A problem with discipline? No chance. We are a good club. We have got strong personalities but nine times out of 10, strong personalities do exactly what is right for the team.
“I have always felt that England is the country where you most respect people who speak their mind. That way there are no grey areas, there is not a lot left for assumption.
“We have got a lot of strong characters who speak their mind and in moments when we have been confronted with bad results, that quality has always pulled us back out of it."
City boss Roberto Mancini has taken much of the criticism aimed at the club, being accused of failing to control his players and antagonising them with his coaching methods, but his skipper is quick to back him.
“It is easy for me to talk about Mancini. Just look at our results. He is someone who focuses on small details, he is a perfectionist. That is one of the details we have in common," said Kompany.
“He always wants it to be better. Even when you win, he will look back at the performance and think we could have done it better.
“People talk about Mancini’s style but I would just say there are managers with so many different styles who have been successful over the years.
“No one can tell me that Mourinho is the same style as Ferguson but that doesn’t make one of them a lesser manager. We can argue about styles but in the end the results speak for themselves."
Kompany believes that City's recent success is enough to prove any doubters wrong.
He continued: “The reality is that City didn’t win anything for 34 years and that is gone now.
"The reality is that we finished joint second with Chelsea last season, we had the best defence in the league and now we are in the Champions League, we are going places, you know.”
Kompany also discussed Carlos Tevez candidly and suggested that the Argentine has attracted attention during his time at City.
He said: “The only way I am going to try to give you an answer about Carlos is to say that I have been at the club for three and a half years and it has certainly not been uninteresting.
“A lot has happened. You get immune to certain events, no matter how much the outside world comments and discusses something, we just get on with the job and move forward.”
