Carlos Tevez may sue Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini for defamation of character, according to sources in the Argentine striker's camp. On Tuesday, City fined Tevez four weeks wages - about £1m - for what they say were five separate breaches of contract in a game against Bayern Munich. A club investigation found Tevez guilty of refusing to play in the match. But Tevez has been advised that Mancini's post-match comments on the matter could amount to defamation. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15455362.stmAt times I almost feel sorry for Carlos... if he really feels a lawsuit is what's going to make him happy then I can't keep down a bit of pity.

This is just a ploy from him and the Iranian to try and get City to release his player registration. I'd love them to say "bring it on" and squash him flat. My ONLY concern (and not being an expert lawyer) is that when Mancini said that he'd never play for City again that it MAY just give him a loophole in the Disciplinary Process.

That could hold him back but it is one of those things that can be put down to the language barrier, it would be extremely hard to prove that Mancini completely understood and meant what he said to be worded in that exact way, with it being his second or third language. We've seen plenty of interviews where, although his English is good, he hasn't quite grasped the true meaning of the question - either that or its just his tactic of not having to say things he does not want to.

Interesting article in the Manchester Evening News today that Tevez was told, last month, that his contract agreement that he was due a£6 Million pay off "loyalty payment" had been negated by his official transfer requests and he wasn't going to get it. It also seems certain that he did not train with the rest of the players in the pre-game warm up and, frankly, even if he refused to warm up, both during and before the game, that would be a de facto refusal to play at the standard of play, fitness and readiness that is expected by his player contractual agreement. He has also been told that his contract will definitely NOT be renewed after 2014 and so his ONLY way out is to eat humble pie, apologise and work his goolies off to get back his credibiliy and place in the first team squad. OR, find a club willing to pay 40Million+ for him.
