... Transfers! All our squad needs in the summer is some very shrewd fine tuning.
As i always harp on about, we have the Registration Quota's to meet for both EPL and CL.
My realistic squad would be;
OUT;
Tevez
Savic (loan)
Kolarov
Taylor (offer coaching role)
IN;
Hazard (Lennon if not)
Hietinga
Nathaniel Clyne (Free/£2m at tribunal for training costs)
I'm pretty sure Joe Hart was about 3 months short of being classed as trained by club when he signed so.
HG - trained in England
TBC - train by club
Hart - HG
Pantimillion
Johansen - TBC - 1
Richards - TBC - 2
Clyne - HG
Clichy - HG
Zabaleta
Kompany
Lescott - HG
Hietinga
Boyata - TBC - 3
Kolo
Yaya
De Jong
Barry - HG
Milner - HG
Hargreaves - HG
Nasri
Silva
Johnson - HG
Hazard
Balotelli
Aguero
Guidetti - TBC - 4
Dzeko
That is a squad of 24, that would be eligible for both EPL and CL. I was going to put Pizzaro in there but I'm not altogether sure that we'll sign him on a full time basis. Mancini will most probably attempt to sign someone who can replace Yaya in the ACL months. In reality someone who could help us crack the asian market wouldn't be all that bad! A mate who's a tourist fan said they had in their match day program at the swamp an article on Park Ji-Sung, with David Gill saying he pays his own wages thrice over in shirt and ticket sales.
I'd flog Dzeko to the highest bidder, purely because Huntelaar is available on the cheap-ish (entering last 16 months of his Schalke contract) and i really like him as a player, as good as Dzeko in the air, far better leap, far more mobile and gets into the box. Not that I've ran out of patience with Dzeko; just that when he's good he's great and when he's not, he's intolerably poor.
Also if De Jong didn't get a new contract signed by this summer on reasonable terms then I'd also make him available and start looking around for another holding mid. As much as i love NDJ, there is no point in keeping him until his contract ends and losing him on a free, we aren't Arsenal!
