Reportedly having medical for us. Seen coming out of Bridgewater hospital - where the club conduct their medicals - with the Manchester City doctor.
If he's passed a medical the it could be a good bit of business. He's quite a versatile player which would fit the bill so far as Mancini is concerned so I could see this as not being a made up story for once.

Bloody 'ell - I can't believe - if it is true - GREAT - 'cos he'll be perfect cover for De Jong
I'll have to turn on SSN - it's unlikely to be happening as they haven't said anything yet that I have heard. I have heard that ugly fat twat saying "la la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaa are kid". "weerdoinawrite I fink laaa". What a twat - thank God we haven't got anyone on our squad or staff who is even as half as obnoxious as that Pita (that was what we all called one of our clients when I was at work - a bunch of Pains in Axxx).

I've been saying for some time that Mancini wanted to get an experienced DM to replace Vieira. Apparently we tried to get van Bommel www.skysports.com/story/0,,11679_7138313,00.html but as that has failed we've settled for Hargreaves. I think it's a shrewd move - it's not as though we need anyone to make a huge difference, just somebody who can provide cover for Nige and slot in for the last 20 to help kill off games.

BBC just announced at 1840 that the deal has been done You are right mate, statement on the OS................................... Owen Hargreaves has become the latest of Roberto Mancini’s summer signings. The England midfielder joins as a free agent having left Manchester United at the end of last season. He has put pen to paper on a one-year contract and will train on Thursday. Though injury has taken its toll on the 30-year-old’s career, Hargreaves has 42 international caps to his name, has won five league titles at home and abroad and was awarded the England Player of the Year award in 2006, beating off competition from Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and City’s own Gareth Barry. Born and raised in Canada, the Blues new signing moved to Germany at the age of 16 after Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich spotted the midfielder’s potential. There he became just the second English player to win a Champions League medal with a foreign club – the first being former Blue Steve McManaman at Real Madrid. Bayern won the Bundesliga title on four occasions during Hargreaves' time at the club and the City new boy also added three German Cup medals to his own personal collection, before starring for England in the country’s 2006 World Cup campaign. Despite breaking his leg during the 2006/07 season, Hargreaves was offered the chance of Premier League football with Manchester United in 2007. Though his time at Old Trafford was blighted by further injuries,he won both the Premier League title and the Champions League during his first season in England. www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2011/August/Hargreaves-signs-for-City

I think this might be the player to replace Vieira in the dressing room. A bit of experience which he can hopefully pass onto the youngsters at the club.

It's not a pay-as-you-play type deal but is heavily reliant on appearance bonuses instead.
