The Manchester Evening News seems quite confident that he'll sign for another four or five years. They also seem relaxed about both David Silva and Nigel de Jong. The bad news is that Yaya is back at yet ANOTHER bloody African Nations Cup in January - how many do they have? ??

The Daily Mirror today reports that Mancini has avoided a reception in Austria, leading to doubts as to his future with Manchester City.
Murdoch's Morons in the Sun say that Mancini will be snubbing Russia and signing a 5 year deal with Manchester City.
Today's copy of 'Graham's Gonads' reports that Mancini missed the reception in Austria due to an illness OR he is in Italy for the weekend and will be in Austria tomorrow OR he was visiting another country for meetings with representatives of potential transfer targets OR he was still recovering from the 'over celebration' of our Championship win OR he overslept and missed the flight OR he just could't be arsed with all the hype OR....... lots of other potential reasons. This reliably accurate newspaper also says that we will all be able to believe what will be happening after the end of next season (when his contract expires) when it is first released on the Official Manchester City website.
Moral of this post - 'Don't waste your money on buying newspapers, they can't even be used for wrapping fish and chips in anymore. No wonder today's chippys offering doesn't taste half as good as it did in the 60's.

Skybet slashed the odds on mancini to be the next manager to leave the prem from 100-1 to 7/2 and then released a story on sky sports news that he had agreed a mega-deal to manage the Russian team; all this just 2 hours before city released that he had signed a 5 year deal. This is not the first time they've offered enticing odds knowing full well from their 'sources' that that outcome will not happen and used skysportsnews to dose rumours with lighter fluid.. How they get away with it is beyond me.
But i probably should be focusing on the brilliant news that bobby manc will be around for the next 5 years!

Manchester City Football Club are pleased to announce that a new contract has been agreed with manager Roberto Mancini. The deal, which runs until the Summer of 2017, follows the Club's most successful season in more than four decades, which concluded in the most dramatic of circumstances in the team’s thrilling 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers in May this year. Agreement was reached after, in line with Club policy, discussions began as the season closed. Talking of the agreement, Roberto Mancini declared: "I am delighted to be able to give all of my efforts to Manchester City for a further five years. The opportunity which exists to build on our recent success is enormous. Manchester City is a fantastic football club, from the owner, chairman, Board and the executive team, through to the players, staff and fans. "I am very much looking forward to the challenges and excitement ahead." Interim Chief Executive Officer John MacBeath said: "Roberto’s managerial credentials have been well proven in Europe for many years and in leading a team which has won the FA Cup and an unforgettable Barclays Premier League title in successive seasons, his ability to manage in the English domestic game is also undisputed. "This new agreement allows Roberto to focus on the challenge of guiding a team which is capable not only of defending the Premier League title, but one which can compete for European honours."

It's typical of Sky. I watch the news in the morning and a couple of weeks ago, they had a couple of people on who were having a right ol' dig at Sue Barker firing a bazooka in the Go Compare advert. It didn't stop them from showing the advert though did it !?

Sky Sports perfectly reflects the veracity, dignity, quality, sophistication and honesty of it's prime owners...... Old Murdoch and Mini Murdoch. They claim to only own 39% BUT, those 39% of shares apparently control 75% of voting rights.

Could failure (again) in the Champions League be the end for Roberto Mancini ? 'Rumours' are rife again. - "3 at the back."
- "Richards critical of defensive changes."
- "Zonal marking."
- "Txiki Begiristain."
- "Pep Guardiola."
- "Poor summer signings."
- "etc, etc, etc."
Article from the Independent: Roberto Mancini Under Pressure as Manchester City's Senior Players Start to Turn Some of Roberto Mancini's most experienced players are becoming increasingly sceptical about the manager's methods, with Micah Richards' critical comments about his defensive changes reflective of a wider view within the squad that the Italian has got it wrong. The frustrations that some players have about unnecessary changes to the defence are compounded by the fact that Mancini is testing relationships to the extreme with his repeated habit of making negative public comments about players. Joleon Lescott was the latest to be the subject of some thinly veiled sarcasm, in Mancini's Amsterdam Arena press conference late on Wednesday. There is no sense of rebellion against the Italian, whose position remains very secure, with a lucrative new five-year deal recently signed. But with City's Abu Dhabi ownership examining why the club is struggling to reach the potentially lucrative knockout stages of the Champions League, there is a feeling among some players that he lacks the interpersonal skills to bring the best out of the lavishly assembled squad. They feel they can and should be a force in the Champions League.Full Article - Please Read:

Well I suppose that low circulation chip paper fodder do need to print something, just so that they can pretend that they are of any interest to anybody with intellectual capability.
