I Won't be Sacked Even if we Fail to Land Crown, says Mancini Roberto Mancini, the Manchester City manager, has insisted that his relationship with the man in whose hands his future beyond this season lies is "fantastic" and that he will not be sacked next month, though he admits that he has been in football for long enough to know that he can lose his job. Mancini believes that the title race will be over if his side lose at Arsenal tomorrow and Manchester United beat Queen's Park Rangers, but evidence of Mancini's capacity to arrest a slide into poor form and internecine strife may be almost as significant for City's chairman, Khaldoon al-Mubarak, who will review the Italian's position at the end of the season. "I've been in this world for a long time and I know you can lose this [job] title," Mancini said. "I think we are progressing but I don't decide [whether I stay or go]. I do the best for my job and, after that, I don't decide this situation." If United, with their easier run-in, open up a six-point lead or more before the end of the season, the Italian will be damaged and may come to view his attempts to maintain regular contact with Mubarak as judicious. His predecessor Mark Hughes did not take Mubarak up on his offer to call regularly, after being given his mobile number. More: Roberto Mancini Admits to Uncertainty About his Manchester City Future • Manager praises club chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak • Says the club will soon win two or three titles a year Roberto Mancini has admitted that he could lose his job at any moment but said that even if he were sacked as Manchester City manager he would still admire Khaldoon al-Mubarak and that any successor would be lucky to work with the club's chairman. Mancini does not believe he will lose his position even if City fail to win the championship, claiming that the club will soon be winning multiple trophies each season. But of his relationship with Mubarak the Italian said: "My relationship with Khaldoon is fantastic. If he sacked me at the end of the season or next year, I would say that every manager who works with Khaldoon is very lucky. He is a really good man. This doesn't change my opinion about him or the club. But I don't have this problem because I will continue in my job. I'm sure that this club has arrived at the top. With two or three more players after this year, this club will start to win, and when it starts to win it will win two or three titles every year. Now it has arrived. More:

Don't you just love it when the Murdoch Moronic Monleys and the BBC turn an honest comment "If he sacked me this year or at the end of next year" becomes hysterical "Mancini to go" or "Mancini unsure of future" - what a bunch of out and out "cry wolf (as long as it makes me money)" tossbags they are. Obviously beenono Murdoch's "Ethics in Journalism" Courses. Their ethics are easy to identify.... The NOTW did nothing wrong (until proven that it did)..... The Sun has done nothing wrong (unless proven that it has)...... Oops we are getting found out in GB, head back to the wild west quickly.

That just goes to show what they've done to us all year, take an honest comment by Mancini and twist it so much that it ends up making another 'crisis' at the club! I really hope Mancini stays mainly so that it just makes all the papers look stupid at the end of the season.

Manchester City Face Mancini Quit Fear Roberto Mancini's Manchester City future is hanging in the balance – and could be decided by his wife. Starsport can reveal Mancini is stalling over signing a new £5.5m-a-year deal because his wife Federica wants to quit Manchester. City are desperate for Mancini to sign a new and improved contract after the Italian led them to the Premier League title last season. He has only one year left on his current deal but nothing has been agreed, despite Mancini holding talks with the club’s billionaire owners in Abu Dhabi last month. More:

I wonder how the Star found that out. Did Signora M. phone them and tell them? Did it come to them in a vision in the early hours of the morning? Or, did it miraculously come out of the spout pouring their tenth pint of the afternoon in the 'Scribe and Shits' pub round the corner from the office?

I don't kid myself that Mancini will be around as long as baconface because i have no doubt he harbours serious intentions to manage Italy one day. But i think that that would be, barring a sudden unbelievably poor season and getting the sack, around about the end of whatever 5 year deal that i am more than confident he will sign over the summer.

The sooner that he signs more than the one year we have left on his contract, the better as far as I am concerned.

Great news if true Mancini Overtakes Fergie in Wages Stakes With New Deal Roberto Mancini has agreed to a lengthy new contract at Manchester City that will take him past Sir Alex Ferguson in the Premier League managers' wage table. City are expected to announce the 47-year-old Italian's new deal in the next week or so. Mancini, currently thought to be paid around £5million a year at Eastlands, a similar figure to that of his Manchester United rival, still has a year left on the three-and-a-half year agreement which he signed when appointed in December 2009. The new figure will take him closer to the £7.2m paid to English football's highest managerial earner, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
