It's a shame to see a club like this dying Ally McCoist favours Divsion Three start Manager Ally McCoist has come out heavily in favour of newco Rangers joining the Scottish Third Division. The Scottish Football League will vote on accepting the newco next week after the Scottish Premier League rejected their application. McCoist believes he has a better chance of rebuilding a heavily depleted squad from the bottom tier. And he endorsed the view that for reasons of sporting integrity the club cannot be relaunched in Division One. I can't help wondering if, guessing the outcome of any vote, he is already pre-empting some of the exaggerated media coverage with this statement. I would if I was him.

I can't help wondering what is going on in Scotland with this situation. As I understand it Rangers FC is being wound-up and going into liquidation. All players, up until the company is wound up, are contracted to the failing company. Stoke, Southampton etc have had 5 players all just decide to walk out on Rangers and sign to play in England, without any money being paid to Rangers FC Administrators for the transfer of their playing registrations which are held by Rangers FC (in Liquidation). If this was a normal commercial undertaking ALL, and any, monies from the sale of assets will go to the Liquidator and be used to pay off debts to HMRC, Suppliers, staff etc. Surely Rangers FC (in liquidation) have the right to refuse to transfer the players registration?
