"These last 7 months have been hard, but it's made me realise how lucky we are to be footballers. To be back training with the team is great"
I think we are going to see a new lease of life from him this season. I think some footballers turn that age of 30/31 and start to get into that phase of winding down, like not training as hard as the used to and kind of taking themselves down a gear (think we are seeing that with Drogba and Lampard atm) and then some of them realise when they finally quit the game that they lost out in those final years and how much they miss the game. Whereas Kolo has had football taken away from him in the last 7 months and although, IMO, he's always been a footballer who's valued the game and got on with it in a no-fuss manner, i think we'll see this new perspective he'll have had on things get him right back upto that level he was at in the 'Invincibles' season.
Plus i think he'll have that incentive that his spot as one of the four CB's is very much up for grabs at the moment due to his 120k wages and i think he'll be one of many top 4/5 team defenders on their toes and looking over their shoulder at the fact that a great, young centre back like Cahill could be available on a free next summer.

Agree with that and I'd also add that we also have Dedryck Boyata benefitting from a loan spell and regular games and, also, Reece Wabara coming along like an express train.
