Man City Join the £45m Race for Falcao as Mancini Checks on Atletico Striker Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini flew to Spain to check on £45million-rated striker Radamel Falcao at the weekend. And the Italian saw the Colombian hotshot score his eighth goal of the La Liga season as Atletico Madrid beat Malaga 2-1 on Sunday, reports the Daily Mirror. Manchester United and Chelsea have already been linked with the 26-year-old. And City have joined the race just hours after Mario Balotelli stormed off after being subbed during the 3-0 win over Sunderland at the weekend. But Atletico president Enrique Cerezo is in no rush to sell. He quipped: 'We know Mancini came to watch, but we are calm on the subject of Falcao. 'Mancini must be here to look for a home in Malaga.' In-demand Falcao, who scored 36 goals last season, has put Europe's leading teams on alert after admitting the economic strife in Spain may force him to move abroad. He said: 'England? One day, I could go. I used to watch the Premier League on TV as a kid. Players like Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, Zola, and Asprilla at Newcastle. 'I think I could adapt to England and score goals.'

I'd really like to see John Guidetti given a chance before we spend a lot of dosh on a guy who MAY be Ok in the Prem but, there again may NOT.
We must really start to show that we are willing to promote our younger players from within the club.
