19 games in it's there for all to see; not playing well enough, we have a 20 minute spell in games and if we don't score in it (which we frequently haven't) we stumble our way through the rest of the game struggling to create another period of dominance in the final third in order to score from and way too much time spent with the ball moving left and right in front of 10 opponents, hoping they'll let us pass our way through. Even worse when we are playing well our strikers can't score, in fact our strikers haven't played well all season and all of this cannot be blamed on a poor injury record this season... And it's due to get worse when the ACN castrate our squad of 3 players.
We don't have a divine right to be winning the title each year, or to be playing the football we did last season every game as some of our fans have been talking like over the last 2 weeks. However with United 7 clear, Chelsea 4 behind with a game in hand we're surely on the borderline of trouble and a bucket load of weekly pressure applied by the media. Last season was great but when the pressure was on we bottled it, as soon as that pressure and expectation was removed and Tevez came in as a catalyst, we suddenly looked like a competent team again.
I'm hoping TB has something up his sleeve so something similar can happen in January because even if yaya wasn't going to the ACN the amount of times this season we've looked out of ideas by the 50-55 minutes mark in games is worrying. A midfielder and a striker (whether that is bringing in Gudietti back) to freshen things up and possibly make a few of the other players in the squad step it up and fight to still be a part of the team come the end of the summer.
