I said this summer he's shite for England, hasn't effected a big game outside of the premier league ever and has been consistently 'sacrificed' when a player of genuine world class talent comes in (to the rags), so therefore how can he be a world class player? I got absolutely slated off of most neutrals and rags and a couple of blues joined in. IMO the only valid point was 'so does Ronaldo, but like Ronaldo he buries the other 15 teams in the league effortlessly'.

My opinion is he flatters to deceive with his 'work rate' which is just disguise aggression and he has always been in very poor shape for a footballer. He has immense potential to effect games beyond those in his own back yard but he doesn't, hasn't and won't because his commitment to get in to top, top shape is not there. He like most English players lack the ambition or motivation to really go out and expand their game because they're too frightened of going abroad and learning another culture. People, well rags, call him the white pele, they couldn't be anymore right, a decent player that has absolutely no ambition to prove himself outside his comfort zone, only difference is Rooney won't be remembered when 10 years have passed since that fat, granny shagger retires he won't be uttered in the same breathe as any of the true world class players from the prem the last 20 years; Henry, Bergkamp, Cantona etc. It is such a shame that true talent and potential, in this country particularly, seems to be regularly put in the hands of the ungrateful.
