Every club needs a player like him, whether you're challenging for trophies, stuck in mid-table mediocrity or fighting relegation, i hope there aren't any plans to sell him because he is the type of player we need to be keeping around. He's not quite hit the heights he once promised but in those days when he only had a young head on his shoulders, he opted to stick around, in what was quite possibly the worst teams we've had in the last 20 years. I think the time is to pay back that loyalty. He's still got time for his mental/reading of play and concentration aspects of his game to improve.
He's come through the ranks, nows what the clubs about and he always has his best games vs. the rags; can't ask more of an academy product! We need to bring more through like him and give them the chance otherwise, despite all the new facilities and training complex, coming to City over the other euro-powers will be a very hard sell.

Agree completely - but I am more optimistic than you seem to be and have great faith that some of our developing youngsters will emulete the progress and service shown by Micah Richards. As a Lancastrian through and through my only (but illegitimate) complaint is that with Richards and Milner, we now have two bloody leeds Lads playing for us. ;D

Could be fit in time for the Derby and/or the semi final.

Micah is a great player and while i agree with what has been said i have my doubts about his fitness. He has played only a handful of games for us in the last 2 seasons due to recurring injury problems. Compare this to Zabaletta who is an ever present in the side and is one of the few players to play regularly at a good consistent level week after week and without complaint. If Micah came back and showed good form and could play for a prolonged period without sustaining another long term injury or a recurrence of his current injury then i would gladly keep him in the squad, but i have my doubts that he would be able to do that.

TBH, I'd like to see Micah play further forward (maybe just behind our strikers) as his physical presence and his power surges, combined with a powerful shot, could be very useful, I feel.

I like Micah, I hope he gets back to his best without further injury.
